Why is NBC not Working on TV?

If you’re having trouble with the NBC app on your smart TV or other device, it means you can’t watch your favorite shows and need to get it fixed ASAP. The best you can do to resolve the issue is to disconnect and reconnect to your current TV provider. Why NBC might not be working?

The most common reasons for this are trying to access locked or live content without a subscription, or using an internet-only plan for streaming. The NBC app only works with NBC partners and not with TV providers. Another possibility is that the app version is outdated.

The NBC app has got updated multiple number of times, so in case, you are using an older version, that won’t work with your smart TV. Another reason can be the compatibility issue of the NBC app with your smart TV or streaming device

How to fix NBC app issues?

Soft reset device:

We recommend doing this whenever you experience problems with your app or device. Unplug the TV from the wall, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in. Once it’s back on, launch the NBC app and see if it works properly. You can repeat the same steps for other devices you are trying to stream the NBC app. Turn off the device, wait about 1 minute, then turn it on again. If the device can be physically removed, like a TV or streaming stick, do so. If not, turn off the device and turn it on again.

Link TV provider:

Devices may fail and not recognize this provider. All you need to do now is relink your TV provider. To do this, go to Settings, unlink your currently connected TV provider, restart the app and relink your TV provider.

Navigate to Settings > TV Providers/Users & Accounts > Sign Out > Verification.

After that, you need to link the device again. Go to the NBC app > More > Link TV Provider. Sign in with your primary contributor account email address. In most cases this will solve the problem.

Sign in/ sign out:

This is the easiest way to do it. Just go to the app and logout. Please wait a minute and try logging in again. You can also reboot your device before logging in again. Hope this solves your problem.

Reset device:

Make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection before using the NBC app. In this situation, it is recommended to reset the router. Unplug it from the power source, wait 1 minute, then plug it back in and wait for it to boot. Update app:

Reinstall app:

Clear cache:

For Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge and such browser:

Use incognito mode:
